Nocturnal Growth

Nocturnal Growth

In darker times, the eyes see
From friction, fire is born
Vermilion heat disseminates
And illuminates a path
Fresh, and starkly perceived
Sickly hands gather seeds
Here, where humility is my loam
Roots penetrate, and then
A bud, a blossom—a bloom
The trail is warmer, and bursting
With life, lush flora and fauna
Expanding without the day
Stunning in starlight, as fog ascends
I rest my sleepy eyes in wait
Till I can behold this beauty
Bearing—flourishing
under the sun of tomorrow

Hi Brittany, I trust all is fine for you. This is an interesting write, the reader gains a sense of emerging from a dark experience into the light whilst following a brighter path, establishing roots and beginning to thrive towards a brighter future. Thank you for taking me there with this beautiful piece. :) x

My pleasure Tony! This poem gave me a brighter outlook.
So glad you understood and gained something from it too.
I have covid right now 😬 lots of time for writing in bed.
Hoping all is well in your world, and thanks for another lovely comment. I'm grateful and encouraged😊
