Poem -

not a member of the pony club

not a member of the pony club

daffodils burst from
debris
pre Christmas planting
they're not my favourite
they're irrelevant to my
psyche..though enchanting
my heart don't dance
but I give them space
in this garden of life..
and a fleeting glance..
so glad
I wasn't born an elephant..
I could easily have.
hit that option
being born too soon..
beautiful creatures.
deserve more in life
than  grief encountered..
I still am socially
an elephant in the room...
by nature of displacement
I think I hear on a
different wavelength
and see more shadows
than those cast..
that noise I listen in
the darkness..nobody hears
but me..
I believe I live
much less in the future
and far more in the past
