NOT THE CITY I ONCE KNEW

You're not the city that once I knew
Shades of grey that was previously bright blue
Shops and factories I can vividly recall
Part of my youth when I was young and small

Both now gone by a bulldozers crush
My city once vibrant now only a hush
Characters disappeared and no longer there
How my city has changed it just isn't fair

All that's left of my city is its name
Who is at fault and who is to blame ?
Some call it progress and others call it change
I call it disappointing, weird and strange
