Nothing

Nothing

This is a poem about nothing at all.
But is nothing worth saying a saying worth nothing?
Or do the words intrinsically transcend the void?
Like a thermometer's zero:  rarely absolute.

Stop laughing at me, Kelvin.
Don't you have chemistry to do?

The rest of us know better than to ignore the relativity...
the sliding scale...
the power of perspective...
the diversity of life in all of its glory.

My nothing is another's something...
And another's loss may be my gain.
For in life's zero sum there is never a none,
without another one's some all the same.
