Number

Number

A Number,
What a silly thing to fear.
But the number on the scale, makes me want to disappear.
It makes me want to stop eating
And that’s just what I did.
Yet the number still made me mad
So all those bad thoughts I hid.

It’s hard to look at myself
and truly be content.
Cause I see all these skinny girls
with thousands of compliments in her comments.

I really do wonder
if the number wasn’t there.
Would I still stand in front of the mirror
would I see skinny girls and compare.

If the number vanished
gone out of the blue.
Would I still suffer
or would I be immune.
