Numerically wrong

Two wrongs do not make a right.

Yet all too frequently two rights make a wrong.

Wrong is in fact, like a base number.

You know,

the one you always seem to get back to.

Like zero,

most numbers have zero in them,

and anything by zero always ends the same.

It's as though the only way to get rid of it is to never have started with it in the place.

wrong,

that is,

not zero.

But sometimes,

I think,

If you take a wrong and enough rights on top of it you can't quite see it,

it's camouflaged within the rights.

Almost like its waiting for something to find it and multiply until all the rights you made just end up back at zero.

I mean wrong.

And the only thing anyone can see is the wrong,

and no matter how many rights you throw at it nothing helps.

It's like it eats it,

like zero,

i mean 0,

is shaped like a mouth.

It just eats and eats and eats and eats untill all the numbers are gone,

I mean rights,

until all the rights are gone and the only thing left is this big, gaping, ever hungry mouth.

I mean 0,

I mean zero,

I mean wrong.

And the wrong is so vast it swallows you.

It just sucks you up like a piece of spaghetti,

not even getting sauce on it's chin,

I mean blood,

I mean you.

And then anyone who sees you can only see 0,

I mean zero,

I mean wrong.

And they shy away from it,

they shy away from the big, gaping, bloodthirsty mouth,

I mean 0

I mean YOU,

I mean zero.

Because they do not also want to be eaten,

they do not want to BECOME zero,

I mean 0,

and they don't want to become the number you consume,

I mean wrong.

They do not want to become wrong,

they do not believe they are made of numbers,

or wrongs,

because they have spent so much time trying to cover them up with rights,

I mean numbers,

the ones that aren't zero.

So they run,

they run and run and run,

but they don't realize they are running circles,

I mean 0's,

I mean zero's,

they are creating a mouth and they are running along it's lips,

like they are letting it taste them,

because maybe two wrongs don't make a right,

but sometimes,

I think,

enough rights can make a wrong,

I mean blood,

I mean YOU,

I mean 0.

Because in the end we are all just covering ourselves up with rights,

with numbers that don't have zero,

so we can hide the gaping mouths,

the bloodthirsty, gaping 0's that we have become,

and the wrongs that we have committed.
