A Nurse's Want

She walks all day,

On occasion runs,

She's the hero no one recognizes,

For she does not don a cape.

Some people say she wants rest,

Others say she wants a day off,

Ah, but who truly knows what the nurse wants?

She herself doth know,

To sit next to her lover and watch the fading sun,

Holding a glass of the finest wine,

Toasting to their future life together,

As the glass gleams in the fading night,

Oh what the nurse wants,

An everyday hero that nobody sees,

Many lives are held in her hands,

As each day pass,

But what does the everyday hero want?

To enjoy a glass with her dear lover,

No recognition doeth she want,

No not a word,

This everyday hero,

All she wants is to enjoy a glass of wine,

Sitting next to her lover.
