Oblivion

Oblivion

We are timeless

Upon this mountain

The mountain holy

Looking down into the valley

Where our forefathers walked

Apemen, in troops

Through this jungle

We were given the book

And then we rose

From hunched to dignity

From primitive to somewhat civilised

From neanderthal to humanity

We rose and we roseĀ

Until we had the world in our hands

A few million years past

Our skins became pinkĀ

And our hair once vast

Was lost

Took advantage

Of the might of the land

Having left Atlantis

For the earth

For the garden of EdenĀ

And the myth of humanity

Into the age of nuclear

Into the age of no return

Into oblivion

Step of the foot

Nevertheless
Beneath
The dreadlocks
Beneath
The mohawk
The heart...

With these
Five
Fingers

Thy hand killed
Strangled life...

Days of love and black...

Days of love and black bruises

Still
I
Think of
You
In My
Skin
My
Thick
