ODE TO ELECTION FEVER
Oh fever, you have returned with a vengeance
The next few days are critical, or so the experts say
As these great figures who tread the halls of power
Stride boldly through our streets to denounce all but their own
Kissing small babies cuddled in their motherās arms
Talking to the old folk, trying to show concern
They feign such short-lived interest in those who gave them power
Vying for credibility on their opponents weaknesses
Your infection now has the whole nation in its steel-like grip
As millions turn out to make their mark
Acting in protest at such artful dodgers and promise-breakers?
Or in genuine support of the best ābad appleā
Will their policies come to fruition?
Only one thing seems certain now
We must all make our crosses well
We shall have to bear them for the next five years
Or at least until your next return

I believe that the monies that come from tax payers should be used when conducting business for and in behalf of this country ONLY for that purpose...
Tax payers shouldn't be paying for vacations, holidays and getaways...
A Presidential salary should be more than sufficient for that...
Trump accused past presidents of overspending and he has made himself a fine example of what not to do...
He is showing more and more everything many already knew about lying and hypocrisy as being the decision maker...
In all honesty instead of insulting he should have said...
I will show you how to spend taxpayer's money...
