“Oh what a crying shame”

Each and every minute I listen to the very same
the second hand loud tick tock of the cuckoo clock, “Oh what a crying shame”
As I lie curled up on this comfy chair
I am all too aware of the noisy disturbances that are annoying me there
That dam dreadful drip coming from the bathroom sink
I am so sleepy yet I cannot get a wink

I live on a little farm and yes I do agree it has a lot of charm but “Crikey me” I never need to set an alarm
You see there are farm animals opposite my house where I dwell with an ex-farmer who happens to be my spouse
But you know when you just fancy a little sleep well all I hear is the noises of the cows and the sheep

“Mehhh”, “Moo”, Baa” and “Moo” yet again
“Hell’s teeth” what a racket they are making what a pain
“Is there no chance of any peace living around here” 
Then my Husband revs the grass cutter in my garden, “Oh dear”
If only I was lying on a lilo on a hot sunny day
with just the breaking of the waves as my portray

“Huh not a chance” as I try to romance 
“Oh why don’t I live in a chateau in France ?”
Where the big old currant bun is always shining in the sky
With my glass of Merlot in my hand and my piece of apple pie
Ah well dreaming is good for you
coz there’s no nap for me with this loud hullabaloo
