Oh what joy

Oh what joy
it does bring,
In the form
of a little thing.
Colours dancing
on the wall,
Chasing shadows
after night fall.
A production of flickers
and merry swirls,
The light and dark
embrace in twirls.
Its gentle offering
dim in a room,
Bright on its own,
forces out gloom.
It's calming presence
of a peaceful state,
A romantic gesture
on a first date.
Oh the joy
of simple things,
A wax candle
and the love it brings.
