Poem -

oil + canvas

Its 9 am    A holiday
You image yourself
a whole complete day

oil + canvas
~~~~~~~~
lazy painting you know?
later, walking the dog
in a green leafy park
maybe cooking a meal
feeling pleased with your day
feeling proud of yourself
steady heart steady breath
it's ten o'clock now
you're scrolling a phone
you have 400 friends
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
you are never alone
Eleven o'clock and still
you're not dressed

you are failing again
this fucking life test    so you
Smile at the dog as you lock
Up the doors    Head back to bed
hell...  you already said
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You ain't winning,
M
