Old
Getting onā¦.

Old
I feel it now
Getting old
I feel now how
Itāsā¦not all gold
I feel it more
Since yesterdayĀ
Iād rather stay
Than go ān' play
Itās not so bad
Donāt get me wrong
Iām really gladĀ
Iāve lived this longĀ
I travelled āroundĀ
By thumb 'n' car
Slept under bridgesĀ
In Florida
My pal Hohner
Tagging along
Weāre always kissing
When blues come on
Been to rehab
Eyes wide open
Weāre all in a struggleĀ
Weāre all a bit brokenĀ
I got to see
Niagara Falls
I got to hear
The lovebird call
I sweetly weepedĀ
Obamaās win
And lived to see
Him win again
I feel it now
Growing old
All my memoriesĀ
Just pure gold

first line was just a passing thought of the physical deteriorationš
This is absolutely beautiful. It is one of the most uplifting poems I have ever read. It really is a fabulous poem. It nourishes the soul upon reading. Fabulous work!
