Poem -

This old man

~~This old man

To guess your age, what a thankless task,

The stories of time, behind your mask.

So many look, but just cant see,

When light shines bright, talk with me.

When you were forged, in times of old,

How many lived, in fields so cold.

Times were tough, but hearts were true,

A day’s hard work, for a pot of stew.

Life or death, you roll the dice,

How quick your face, can turn to ice.

Your winds cut through, the thickest stone,

Even proud mountains, can feel alone.

Its not all bad though, blue skies ahead,

The child who runs, she’s dressed in red.

Highland cows chew lazy, grass is ever green,

Your inner beauty, not always seen.

I bow my head, respect your ways,

Life finds a way, on the darkest days.

Your highest peak, kissed by a cloud,

To be your guest, I feel so proud.
