Olivia my owl ?

Olivia my owl ?

Olivia my owl ?

Many years ago my husband
Gifted me a special friend
She only requires a delicate dust
So doesn’t need much care & tend

Olivia is perched on a bit of bark
Thats high upon our wall
It is securely fixed
So she will never take a fall

Through my aged years
I have grown to adore her airs & grace
Whilst staring at her frequently
Amusing at her little face

Though I can’t help being curious
Wondering how she died & why,
What was the reason for her untimely death
Where did this beauty fly ?

I am continuosly concerned
Did this barn owl leave any young,
Had she a barn owl partner
With baby owlets that spring had sprung ?

Alas it is a mystery that I will never ever know
Just where abouts she dwelled
& The places she did go

I vividly use my imagination
Olivia was in a turret in a castle
She did rear three owlets
Fed her family with no hassle

Olivia & her majestic Mr barn owl
They took it both in turns
To swoop the valleys & the hillsides
Grabbing voles & mice from local burns

Their offspring were fully grown
When Olivia peacefully died
They had raised owlets of their own
Amidst the castle walls
Where they did glide

Her ancestors found this perfect
Abode
On the very top of the turret arch
In bygone years her great great Grandad owl
Used to watch the soldiers march

Tho this is now in history books
Generations of Olivias are still there
& As you know I can proudly say
Olivias spirit has my love & care

Hi JILL!!....this is such a charming narrative piece.....brought to light by your creative imagination......it's indeed interesting how the mind will create when there is an object before our eyes every day and the questions begin to arise ~

          ~ "I am continuously concerned
Did this barn owl leave any young,
Had she a barn owl partner
With baby owlets that spring had sprung?".....

I Love that final line there.....and the continuation of the entirety is truly compelling and VERY original!!.......ALL STARS!!.....well done dear poet sister!!.......LOVE & ROCKETS!!.......T xo ?✴❤?
