~ ON BRAVERY ~
The donning of bravery is never slight
It is instantaneous,
And of the moment.
For bravery is worn
Innocently,
Briefly,
Mutable,
As honor is.
But like the revealing
Of a virtue,
So is bravery the brief exposure
To fleeting images,
On the microfilm of valor.
Where the individual
Displays
His true colors,
With blood being the final rung
On the ladder
Of the spectrum's
Marrow,
That place
Where a colorful death
Awaits,
Just on the other side
Of blind,
Victory...

Hello Tony,
You have penned an interesting take on what it means to be brave. That sudden jolt, where a person switches and their inner strength (be that physical or mental) kicks into full power. Taking charge of the situation, in a means to surviving the moment. Their true inner self shines briefly. Although sometimes people have to be brave for long periods of time. I do like how you describe that auto pilot effect being brave can have.
Your ending for this write gave me a sense of repercussions from situations where being brave causes devastation. Being brave can be a person forcing themselves to do unthinkable things. Things that go against their own conscience and humanity. Their victims in turn are also faced with having to be brave. Face the onslaught of a volatile situation. Creating blind victory for one, and trauma/death for the other
You now have me thinking of all the ways being brave can mean. Thank you Tony for penning something which forces the mind of the reader to contemplate deeply on how often bravery is being displayed. How some of it is hidden behind a veil of fear
I do enjoy your work my friend
Gwen :)

He who lives by the word does not necessarily have to die by the word that's just an old wives tale, but that's another story .. Wot a smashing take on both bravery n valour sir Tony .. Neville :)
