On my journey to the sea
I long to stroll the moorland meadows, I yearn to roam the fresh green grass.. back in yon haydays of my youthfulness, when I was a little lass, sauntering beside the rolling river, sitting listening to the brook, riplets running thru the gorges, white-throated dippers in the shadey nook
Oh how I miss the skylark singing on my journey to the sea, walking thru the pleasant pastures to the beach that beckons me..sinking on the silky sand, barefoot as I stride the shore, seagulls duck and dive above me, squawking amidst the ocean’s roar..for miles and miles I wade the water jumping wavelets as I go..salty seas and rugged rocks with the tidal ebb and flow..breathing in the briney odours, tasting salt upon my lips, hovering over the horizon, twin masted yachts and sailing ships
