Poem -
On My Own
It's my birthday tomorrow
I could really care less.
It always winds up
Such a great mess.
People fight and yell
And they never see
This isn't what
I want it to be.
They do what they want
And don't realize
That it isn't fun
In my eyes.
Yet I keep my mouth shut
To avoid a fight
And deal with whatever
Throughout the night.
Then they ask me
If I had fun
And of course I say
"It enjoyed it a ton!"
I simply want the day
To be alone
And do what I please
On my own.

My family is either dead now or too far away...
Too bad you couldn't just stick around for the birthday hoopla and say well that was fun thank you everyone, but I have to run...
It doesn't work for everyone, but I had to have a solution to my sanity...

It's the same here I only have my mom then my dad is 6 hours away along with the rest of my moms family. I have a friend here though who just wants all of the control. It went okay today there of course was a huge fight but for once I got a majority of the day to myself, wasn't close to how I wish it could've gone but oh well.

Isn't it true how birthdays & holidays put so much undue stress on a situation? Like this spin on just wanting to "be" on a birthday!*!*!
Yes, they really do. They're supposed to be fun times but sometimes they wind up the exact opposite. Glad you like it! :)
