On The Other Side

On The Other Side

On one side there's a face,
Smiling and holding back giggles.
Playing with the little kids,
Dancing to the wiggles.

Seeing smiles on children's faces,
Are your houses built of gold.
All of them look up to you,
All trying to be bold.

Greeting your mom and dad,
Always with a hug and kiss.
Your life is how you want it,
Everything in perfect bliss.

You come home your parents gone,
Your entire world comes crashing down.
And the houses built of gold,
Come tumbling to the ground.

Now you're on the other side,
Frowning holding back no tears.
Wondering where your gonna go,
Breaking out your fears.

You're scared and you're lonely,
Your parents never can come home.
Sitting there up in your room,
You are quite alone.

No more smiles do you see,
On the faces that you meet.
Holding on to memories,
Trying to make your life complete.

On one side theirs a face,
Always giggling and smiling.
On the other theirs a heart,
Always sad and always crying.
