On Writing's Difficulties
I find such holiday in reading great writers
Who's song and imagery
Need not be aware of the effort compared
By sullen predecessors
For often we find the new writer's mind
To swim in sewage
The corruption of man is being followed
By the destruction of language
For surely language has been derived
From observations of nature
And the minds matching symbols
To objects observed
There's divinity in the images
Conveyed in simple words
That ballet created
When man preserves
Honesty and integrity
In portrayals and conveyances,
I am in awe,
When I find a simple word
Aloft
And in greater surprise
When people deify
That simple word in flight
For no matter how much I sweat
Or try
I realize
I am but a simple poet
Who spends his time
Trying to divine
What great thinkers do
Who just seem
To climb inside
So easily
That very same word
In its flight....

Hi Tony I dont know about the great writers
anything as much as you do, but as a talented writer
yourself I think I understand what you trying to convey in your poetry
90% of the time..and if i don`t I just read and re read until I understand
I love your analogy of a words being like birds in flight
soaring to reach readers minds to be felt and heard in hearts (My thoughts as I read) :)

Hi Tony, I agree with Deborah, for us you're not just a simple poet ##write what you feel right. ## it's always the start that is difficult, but like Cherrie said, when we see those words back on paper in acoustic form, which I'm still struggling, then we are surprised ## to understand poetry, one must be a poet. I think!! What interest us is writing something that puts the situation in the characters. ## if you consider yourself a simple poet, what am I? Lol ? ##I was even embarrassed when I published my first poem on Cosmofunnel. I didn't even expect to get 5 stars, nor dare to read again!! ##you are a passionate writer ##
