Poem -

Once a boy.....Now a man

Spitting in their faces
Running around, knocking any object i see out of their hands
I only wish for a better life
Wishing that people weren't scared and needing someone to take a stand

But now i am a man
I see the light in which was once blurry
I remember the tears as i wanted to change
But i have never been seen to be one who's worthy

The clenching of my fists
only ever diverting to reach their faces
The destination which was ever so enjoyable
Led to certain assumptions such as me being sexist or racist

But now i am a man
i understand that change was compulsory
I then had to control my inner being,
Respecting the presence if anyone came close to me

i was silly, stupid and crazy
But knowledge wasn't necessary in my eyes
So i am glad that i had the chance to change
Or my spirit would've been in the skies

Hello Michaelam00...

If you weren't who you were...

You wouldn't be who you are...

Sounds like you went through the pottery process...

The best part is...

You went in one way and came out better...

Great first submission...

Welcome to Cosmo!

Thank you for sharing...

Hugs...

HI Michaelam00   This reads as lyrics  to a song?
I really like it. a good story of becoming a man through all
the adversities life throws at us, when we are growing and
learning. You acknowledged  that when you were young
you did`nt understand what life was really about but you
came through it a better person
well done i enjoyed
best wishes  Debs
