ONCE IN A LIFETIME

ONCE IN A LIFETIME

Was it faith, or was it luck, I know not what it was
But while grieving over a long-lost love
I found a jewel, like a diamond set in the fire of emeralds
I found my Sandra.

Tall and slender, shy with a quiet boldness
Her smile would make the Mona Lisa sigh
And it's so difficult to resist the magic in her eyes

She was always there, and I never knew her
No one told me of existence,
No one mentioned her name in a whisper

But if my eyes gave way to darkness,
Her portrate will remain in the light of my mind
I am such a lucky guy

To know her is to love her, and being in her presence
It is nothing short of amazement
Wisdom falls from her lips like the morning dew
Nourishing the vegetation of fields

She finds pleasure in giving of herself
Even when she is at her lowest point
No matter how dark the night, her light shines bright
I am all lit up inside, I'm such a lucky guy.
