Once Upon An End

Somewhere inside
A bone skeleton stands
A creature as ancient as every
snared moon
A silent companion, a nimble
thing... fast,
It waits nonchantly, knows this
flesh cannot last
A skeleton shadow, for I'll not call
it friend
An intimate partner that dances
with me
A vampire within that waits so
patiently
The creature inside I can feel but
not see
A skeleton shadow, it can never
be friend
I am hopeless... I know it will win
In the end
Tis the scariest nightmare from
every childs head
Tis the creature I'm feared to be
When I'm dead
