Poem -

Once we see

When evil oppressions come

and trouble our mind

Where is this coming from,

what is this we find?

A very present evil disturbing

a righteous life

With sinful imaginations bringing

a battle of strife

Now with agonizing prayer,

for a release we cry

From such evil in me,

I don't understand why!

With a desire for God,

to have a heart so pure

Why through such wicked

thoughts we must endure?

Oh God, please deliver us from

temptations evil jest

As the battles afflict my soul,

I remember I am but flesh

To The Lord I must cleave

with all my might

In faith for victory to be

righteous in his sight

So as long as in this body, I'll find this fight to be

And await his return and the change he promises me

Then we'll understand in the sweet by and by

But once we see Jesus, we'll not care of the why!
