ONE BRANCH

There cannot be one branch
More shattered
Or a petal
More desolate
A flower more wilted
Or a blade of grass
More scorched

As in this garden
Once vibrant
So parched with thirst
Inside my head
Because a garden starved
Of son and light
Is landscape
Truly dead
