ONE GLOVE

I carry it all in my handbag these
days
The whole of my soul wrapped
up neat, stored away
By the purse full of memories
and essence and love
All squashed in there snug with
my scarf and one glove

The other I keep on to touch the
cold world and
Every night wash off the scent of
the herd
Then replace it with care in my
black handbag there
Just as soon as the sun throws
the world back to where
It
Was
