One Land

One dream
One man
One woman
One people
One land
One law
One truth
One bite
One apple
One love
The whole world goes to sleep to dream of such a day
With calmer waves
And sweeter days
And a sun with golden rays
Until the dawn comes to give our sweetest dreams away
Beneath a dark fear, sadly we hide
Frail to withstand this veiling slide
Fed with ego and empty pride at hand
With devils we sing and demons, we brand and commend
How soon, how careless we charge forth, and abandon our fruitful land
Forgetting that at the end, one night
Side-by-side, we lay, in regret, old and gray, dressed in white, with souls drifting away like a remorsful kite
Ignorant, arrogant, we rise and fall
Always on the run, we hit the wall, we miss and fall
For a gray greed
so blind
Has left the heart
so far behind
Fools we are, for love cries absent in the heart
Further and further, each day further apart
Comes tomorrow
lets not waste our land
For love so humble has never such demand
Extend your hand, its time to give
Open your heart
For the land of freedom you’ll surely receive
Lend your journey to a happy start
For one tomorrow you’ll surely depart
Life is short, and life is sweet, give it your best, and your kindest of treat.

May I call you sister?
I wish that our struggle were as simple as wishes and prayers and hopes for a brighter day- but there are dragons to be slain- only so that princesses like you might continue to bless us. Your work is inspiring. Both my parents were gone by the time I was 18. Some of us find our voice by innocent means- others (of which I am one)- were not so fortunate. You inspire me. Thank you.
James
