One Night Stand

They entered the bar.
He bought a whiskey.
She ordered a wine.
Both came straight from work,
to escape the stress,
they lived every day,
so much to do, so little pay.
Came to lay low,
came to unwind,
One more whiskey
came to mind,
maybe one more glass
of wine.
Nothing to regret,
nothing to forget,
then back to the husband
back to the wife
back to the kids
to an ordinary life.
Before they knew it
their eyes had met.
Now they were in trouble
now they would regret.
Midnight found them
in each others arms
warm embraces, steamy , wet kisses
ragged breathing, fast heart beating,
moaning and groaning all night long.
In the morning no spoken words
back to their lives, back to their lairs,
back to the people who really mattered,
prepared excuses, memorized lies..
One last lingering kiss,
not one demand,
nothing more than a one night stand.

Thank you! I read Fifty Shades of Grey but I have ambivalent feelings about the book. Anyway, This poem just came to mind after reading Elation.. You should know I have never done this and I could not ever do it either! The guilt and shame would kill me! But to those who have done it or would do it no hard feelings here to each his or her own..x!
Thank you Rachel! :)
Mara,
Great poem sometimes one night stands last only for that moment but in other cases it last for a lifetime, sometimes something to be remembered and cherished and on another, something quite easily do we want to forget.Another home run by you, is in order and the bat remains in your hand...Good job..
