Poem -
one somewhere Sunday
somewhere on a Sunday
a dog lays
eager eyes
all ears to the crowd
a family is risen
in full techno sound
safe in illusion
perhaps, milling around
half dressed and lazy, kids on their
games
maybe someone
is cooking
some eggs on a hob
a TV is blaring while sun takes a
peek
to rouse up that teenager
still fast asleep
Somewhere
on a Sunday
he kisses her cheek
she scats him off gently
no privacy here
a girl crys for mummy, while dad
butters bread
humming along to a tune in his
head
the cats meow gently...feed me
they say
on one somewhere Sunday
a day is in play

My ideal Sunday (quite often but without the kids and the techno - our cat makes up for that) 🤣
