Only a Dream

We all wish for a fairytale 
That never will come true. 
But see we all need that lost hope of dreams to allow us to push through. 
I was living in a hole before I met you. 
But wait! It was only a dream. 
Or was it the fact that you came in my life at the wrong time?
Beautiful speaks through your eyes so I know you have a long line...

Your vision been clear since day one 
Maybe that’s part 
Of the reason why I fell for you!
But wait it was only a dream. 
Your voice was always hesitate to express your feelings for me. 
Was it because your ex was never your ex?
Distance stood between y’all 
And trust may have got broken
Which entitle your relationship to fall
But was that something you was hoping?
Was I just an escape route to a relaxing and pleasing time? 
Show me your inner feelings until y’all get back fine?
But again...
It was only a dream. 
Fussing and fighting on our last days around
Because love was really hiding within you
That’s the true “love making sound”
When you rather end it bad 
Instead of trying to understand. 
So you say your goodbyes without a hug
But with a shake of a hand. 
Your eyes producing tears as you try to withhold your emotions. 
I’m lost for words because your hurt hurts me.
Losing sight of my vision and focus
I replied back “your wish is my command”
Hug! A tight hug! My last hug!
Kiss! A forehead kiss! My last kiss 
No love lost cuz nun was found. 
I was a distraction from her pain...a pain from her true love not being around. 
Only if I never gave you that look that day
My heart and soul would never be so mean
But then I sit and think.
It never would have hurt if it was only a dream.
