Only when dreaming
do you return to me.
You are then young and
beautiful so alive.
We are so in love
the smiles on faces.
Your hair across the pillow
like yellow corn
Only in Sleep
when dreaming. 
are the passing years faded.
It is so long ago
since I lost you
Yet last night
we were as young lovers.
our kisses as real
as the day we wed
The years
had not hardened our faces
your skin  was soft as daylight.
I wonder now 
in your infinite sleep
