Poem -

Open up the curtains...

Open up the curtains...

Let's open the curtains
To doom and gloom merchants
It's a way to release
It is a way to breathe
Social aspects can be so hard
Just look what I wear to hide my scars
So thank you all, whoever listens
You let me know, I'm not imprisoned
I can be myself and who I want to be
Thanks social media, you've set me free
So keep the curtains open
Because some, still feel broken
We must build instead of chastise
No more sarcasm, let's just be kind
Everyone needs to see the light
Whether you know or not
Everyone has their own damn fight
Maybe even open a window
So your heart can be a home
Then they might not feel alone
Words can be words
But look inside
We can be a beautiful soul...

Β  I think that I am a 'doom and gloom' merchant, I like this piece....writing is a cathartic activity for me and it's really refreshing to read about that kind of feeling expressed eloquently as it is here. Thanks Wayne

Very true, I seen a comment from somebody the other day commenting on a comedic piece and she said it makes a change from the gloom and doom merchants, I didn't really like the comment, but one is entitled to their opinion of course, it just stuck n my head as or some this is a therapy of some sort by getting their emotions out but in an artistic way, if you like.Β
your comment is spot on bad rhymes, thanks for saying so πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘βœŠπŸ˜Š

You're very welcome and yes this is a therapy of sorts...at least it is for me...I think. Thanks for the response and hope to read more from you.

I love all sorts of poetry. Some days all I seem to connect to is doom and gloom. Other days it is love that I want to read about...or animals...or funny things. And it is all here on Cosmo. Β Great write, Wayne

Very very true Tina, you've hit the nail on the head, somedays we like to read a specific genre of poetry, I'm just so glad we're all different so we can all connect in so many different ways πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ˜ŠπŸ’“
