Poem -

Orchid

O my Orchid,

Where have you been?

Hiding in dark shadows,

In bleeding drops of sin?

The purple petels,

Stemming from your heart,

Echo through the weeping valley.

Only to fall away and fall apart.

O but sullied Orchid,

O my passing friend,

Have you any beating heart?

And where have you been?

Come to my side,

My shy and ignorant foe!

Orchid, be you tired,

Trembling from head to toe?

So Orchid, I stand bare.

I welcome you with open arms,

O why have you not come?

I have given you my beating heart.

But you have left me stranded and dumb.

I have weathered all your wounds.

But my Orchid, I am here.

And always shall I be.

For the pulsing in my body,

Is now beating true to me.
