Origami

Origami

Origami.

Fold me three times, conceal me.
Keep me in your jewellery box,
Beneath your grandmother’s earrings,
And that locket with the broken clasp.
Or:
Keep me gripped in the cleavage of binding,
Between the leaves of pages,
From your favourite book.
Or:
Keep me in the cotton and lace jumble
of your knickers drawer,
Pushed to the back, but not forgotten.
Then:
Upon the gallop of thunder,
Of those rainy days and blackest
of black nights;
Remember, i’m not that far.
Only three unfolds away.
