OSCAR

OSCAR

In 2012 from South Africa to London you came
To represent your country in the Olympic name
You won gold in that 400 metre race
Everyone knew of your profile and your face

The first double leg amputee in Olympic sport
Running like the wind and never getting caught
Oscar Pistorius I looked up to you
You showed the world what a man with a disability can do

The next year things took an unexpected turn
Guns cause killings when will people ever learn
Reeva your girlfriend was shot and killed outright
You were found guilty of her killing on that February night

Now Oscar one of my heroes must serve his time
Putting an end to this interesting little rhyme
