Our Aurora Borealis’

Bitter cold, knee deep in snow
Mind you, was well wrapped up you know
Anticipation on every face
We stood whilst staring
Up to space

I noticed lime green streaks of light
Above snowy hills on the right
I wondered if this could be
Something wonderful for me

Then all at once a lavender haze
Appeared to mingle with green rays
Pink’ green, purple, red
A perfect arch above our head

I’ve never seen a sight so brill
Dancing, aglow not standing still
Open mouthed we all did sigh
This marvellous splendour up so high

Supersonic rainbow up above
Twas sent from loved ones full of love
As if that wasn’t unbelievably bizzare
Its finale gave us a shooting star

We went to Reykjavik for a few nights
We saw the brilliant ‘Northern Lights’
I will treasure this memory
It was a perfect sight
Our ‘Aurora Borealis’ delight?
