Our Chick

Despite name, great big cop,

dainty 'tag', but he's no 'sop' -

great indeed, leads with heart;

whatever 'call' - suits the part.

All this truth, I know well,

and for my part, I can tell:

discipline or a mercy call;

he's the man to tend all.

At one time, I must say,

his'first-aid' let me stay...

after massive car crash;

living well, life's not 'brash'.

Family lives in our village,

policing all, at this stage -

happy members of place;

lovely part of human race.

If 'Coppers' were all like him,

would be no crime or sin -

life would be good and true;

no more risks, or very few!

Sadly, 'saints' we are not,

Cops are Cops, as we've got -

can't always be correct;

give nothing to detect!
