Our Cycle of Continuity

Our Cycle of Continuity

There are reasons for the quarterly seasons in our calender year, a cycle of continuity with colourful cheer . The Springtime is abloom with segmental sensations betwixt it’s annual awakening of Mother nature’s
new birth creations . A spanking spick-and-span start to our twelve month duration, when animals and birds on the wing return home from their winterised migration

Summer is when our sunshine beams up high in the sky, pleasing Earth’s living creatures and warming them dry . Such a season of healthiness, euphoria and glee, full of folly, jolly holidays happy and free . Brimming with blossoms and richness ripened, a gusto for good well-being enlightened . Then as sure as the sun will rise high in the sky, Summer solstice has passed over and Autumn is nigh . Gloriously garnished with green that’s turned golden, from Dame Mother’s splendorous shows that she has beholden . Rich russet reds, captive cultivated colouration . A chromatic countryside before our withering winterisation

Alas our Autumnal embellishment has dripped like a bleeding heart, wilted leaves from the limbs are scattered in clart . Deciduous trees stand bared with branches and boughs . As Farmers have harvested with their combines and ploughs . Wintertide has reared it’s boisterous head, our quarterly calender year’s finale . A twelve month’s deathbed . Our annually mileages of magnitude measure has overstretched it’s span of timelessness treasure . Another year is completed, over and done, the lengthiness of lastingness has exhausted and is gone . As we await  twelve o’ clock midnight on the last day of December with our photographic memoirs to help us remember

Hi Jill,
This was an interesting poem. It made me think about all the seasons, especially spring. :)

Favorite line

As we await  twelve o’ clock midnight on the last day of December with our photographic memoirs to help us remember

I really like the last line, so true. As a gardener, I only care about one season, spring, ha-ha. Of course, the end of the year is when many people begin making their New Year's Resolutions. This year, after the leaves had begun to compost, I thought about how I was going to spend a very long winter season in Ohio. So glad I found Cosmofunnel, it's helped while we impatiently wait on the first spring moon, the Worm Moon, which will signify the Earth being warmed up enough for the nightcrawlers to rise to the surface, and where Robins can be seen at dusk, looking for enough worms to feed their young in spring.
