Poem -

Our first hello.

I could cry for many years and yearn until I'm old, but life would waste away with me and seemingly become cold,

you wouldn't believe the life I've lived beyond your parting breath, I had to live through the trauma of loss and forgive your death,

Sometimes it's hard to bare and others I recall your smile, but it feels like yesterday,  but surely more the while,

I've had lovers in this life but none compare to you, they left me cold and broken,  feeling nothing but blue,

I cannot forget that evening the sun came up upon your face, a night which felt like heaven truly Something close to grace,

I won't forget the corner where we stood so unaware , I would have waited a lifetime for you, but time it wasn't fair,

you should have came home, I should be your wife, we could have had it all in this life,

Instead I write you poetry because it soothes my soul, for nothing else so far can reach this big and gaping whole,

I loved you from that moment you smiled and looked so deeply in my eye's,  and now you're gone and like an angel watch me from the skies,

but what I know is it is hard to love and then let go, for I have tried and watched the seasons turn to waking snow,

although my love is still so strong I often lose my way, because I look for you to answer why you could not stay,

I met you on a summer night in this little town by water side, and for a moment my heart stopped beating for you I've always cried,

tears of joy and tears of pain, here I am again and again , Reminiscing of the days of old, but loves not lost and I'm not cold,

I keep our fire burning bright like your touch that very night,  we lay down beneath those stars, By the waves of the open sea,

And love still lives with all that heat deepest within the heart of me, so never give the heavens up never aim to fall below,

I miss you every day whilst living,  I wanted you to know , For my favorite thing within this world was our first hello.
