Our New Code Of Honor

There is an ancient code word, our troops need learn to use;
For if they mastered it completely, I’m sure they’ll never lose!
It’s the code of Hammurabi, “an eye for eye and  tooth for  tooth”;
And damn those “ACLers”, if they find it too uncouth!
For bad men now are coming, like worms out of the wood;
And they murder folks so mercilessly, as “evil” slaughters “good”!
We need to send a message, that they’ll hear real loud and clear;
The “Geneva Rules” we’ve tossed out, you’ll be killed if you come near!
Cause we’re taking no more prisoners, we’ve got a brand new code;
Our hero’s now Hammurabi, keep out of our abodes!
And don’t hold up any white flags, for we now believe in red;
We’re loyal to our hero, who says “off with all their heads”!
I’m sure when you learn your new fate, no more prisons if cede your guns;
Your armies will be disbanded, and “helter-skelter” will you run!
And our heroes will be so happy, with “their hero” from long times past;
The great warrior Hammurabi, who liked to end things fast!

As much as I detest violence of any kind, this piece had me thinking Larry! I do think we are too accommodating these days and make it far too easy for terrorists to come to the west and try to destroy our peaceful way of life.Things do need to change and the punishment needs to be much tougher than it is in all peace loving countries so that there is nowhere for these monsters to go. Well done for a thought provoking piece..........G xx
Hi Georgina,
I, as you, have a Buddhist mentality but I also believe that if any of these monsters are a threat to our loved ones they need to be eradicated, because they are not of this earth. I rest my case.
Next, your lovely comments and warm feelings about "How Much Is That Puppy" actually made me feel sad, for it was written as a reminder of how my wife and I felt the first day we saw our dearly departed Nico. I'm so sorry it if gave you the idea that we had purchased a new puppy, because our hands are quite full with his 13 year old little brother, who we are in dire dread of losing too. At this stage in our lives, having to deal with an eventual heart wrenching loss, I think we've decided to let the memories of our two dear little soulmates, suffice. If you read the other poem we posted this morning, called "The Tears of Tomorrow", I think you'll understand.
