OUR ONCE PROUD NATION

By the banks of the Thames a proud nation once stood
Everyone was happy and everything was good
Time has moved on and so has our nation
No longer proud instead it stands full of utter desperation

There are so many things we need to address
The waiting lists rise higher in the NHS
Knife crime and racial tension has come to the fore
Will we leave Europe no one is really sure

Growing up under Thatcher times were bad
Living under May are so awful and sad
Things are not good as you can plainly see
I just hope things improve I'm sure you agree
