Oz fallen

Lions & tigers & bears, oh my!
(Dorothy and Co.'s signature cry)
But the wizard is drunk
& Oz is a lie.
Wicked witch
(That wicked bitch)
Making monkeys fly!

"Poppies, poppies..."
Said the devil to the world
And with terrible swiftness
His horror unfurled.
With sickness and suffering
His tail uncurled
And with perfect knowledge
He counterfeits the world.

And marching now, the witch's midnight army.
Monsters and madmen searching for Dorothy.
Where is Oz, that great and powerful magician?
In the end he's just another snake oil salesman.

For there is no oz
No hero to save us
This world of straw-men
And lions full of cowardice
See now the remnants
Of our industry
Heartless and cold
Metal memory
The tin woodsman stands
Frozen in place
A look of indifference
On his angled face
Rusted reminder
Of a long fall from grace
Lions, tigers and bears
Always ruled this place.
