Pain

I heard the words,
I saw you hurt,
I watched you suffer,
yet in vain I wouldn't release my vice-grip.

Sitting by day and night,
I watch the Cancer take over,
the pain in your eyes tearing me apart.

I stayed by you and held your hand,
whispered words in your ear,
begged you not to go to the promised land.

that couldn't have been better for someone so strong.

Looking up at a picture of Him,
