Poem -

The pearl that killed the oyster.

The pearl that killed the oyster.

There was an oyster below the sea
Who lived alone in lunacy,

Until pearl arrived
And rocked his shell,

She was so happy
You could tell,

She even cleaned his house
Rid the awful smell,

Dressed to impress
Within all finesse,

Under the sea they would be
"Together forever",said he,

That was not to be
"For I'm no treasure", said she,

Please let me go
Just let me be,

You are confined
By lunacy,

The oyster was mad
Pearl was sad,

He dreamed no dreams
She ached and screamed,

The silvery waves
So peacefully gleamed,

Until they turned to red
He never heard a word,

Or a whisper
In which miss pearl had said,

Sad to say on this very day
The oyster is that of dead,

If only not lonely
And that of insane,

Would not have suffered
Miss pearl so much pain,

If he had of listened
again and again,

The silvery waves
Would bear no stain,

The drops of red
Crashing the shore,

Miss pearl such heartache
Could take it no more,

She silenced the oyster
Once and for all,

She now lives alone
Below the sea,

Bound in silence
Her lunacy,

Remembering
that moment she did fall,

Killing the oyster
Within a brawl,

Trapped inside
Her treasure chest heart,

The frightful night
He tore out her heart,

The only moral left to bear
He should have listened
He should have cared,

Death & lunacy
may have spared,

The world in which
They shared.

I'm no treasure", said she,
Please let me go
Let me be,

Bound in silence
Her lunacy,

Miss pearl
nevermore
Forevermore free.
