Poem -

Pendulum II

I’m running a fever, my love—torn asunder,

Falling into the abyss of dreams. My affections

Seduce gloom, for love has given up the ghost.

But ours is everlasting, wherefore, love often

Resurrects, dragging us through purgatory,

Where satiation is fleeting, and our joys are

Chained to impending tears. And still, we

Cherish the thought of eternal love, awake in

Our slumber, mistaken intensity for longevity.

We’re enveloped in sickness, dancing to the

Tempo of mystic flames. We’ve created a

Monster. It lives within our spirits, afraid to

Forsake what’s familiar, thus, we’re dying in

Degrees, enlove with the haunt of death.
