Perception
How you view the world,
In all its imperfections and unbalance,
Questions unanswered,
Catastrophic disasters verses rolled out red carpets,
Fortune verses misfortune,
Doesnât seem quite right.
To look through a lens from the soul,
My perspective, only mine,
Varying view points,
A world in chaos,
Stone hearts,
Blood, sweat and tears,
An unsafe place.
Are we all so different?
They say diversity makes the world go âround,
For some social etiquette cultured in upbringing,
Politeness, academic smiles, gestures and kind regards,
Opinions valued and respected,
High expectations measured by materialistic gain,
Good luck,
While others viewed less fortunate, with only hope for a brighter day,
Opinions disregarded not worth a dime,
Who are we to judge?  Yet we all do, in one form or another,
Viewpoints tailored by oneâs own life experience,
Lessons learnt to care? Â Perhaps... perhaps not,
Let the fantasy continue...
To remain tied together by common strands,
To be accepted, valued and loved,
To travel our journey path into the unforeseen,
With goals and dreams for the future,
No one dreams to fail, yet some do,
The perception measured by oneâs own measure,
Oneâs own belief,
Oneâs own reality.
