Persephone's Garden

Persephone's Garden

An ear of grain in silence reaped,

spring let free,

vertēre,

Thy cup overflown tossed in west-bound wind,

another towards the East,

“rain and conceive,

rain and conceive,”

you repeat while you beat the beet seed with naked feet,

mysteries availed heed no discovery,

but repeat your deceits and your desires shall catch fire,

and as the sun sets fire to the breeze,

the earth can once again be free to breathe,

through and through,

to vertēre.
