Petal
Petals fall
and brush my face
I look up and see
cherry blossoms.
I have a cherry blossom
behind my ear.
It reminds me
of my change,
my transformation.
From a girl
into a woman.
Petal.
My nickname
and something
unspoken
that saved my life.

I just heard your reading. Are you British or something?
So, it's a little funny actually. I'm a southern belle through and through but whenever I recite/read something I say it in a kinda British/English accent because it sounds better to my ears rather than me speaking normally. Because even if I do try to speak normal it winds up sounding like what you heard. I also watched a lot of British tv growing up so in everyday life I kinda have one too...unless I get angry and I sound like a southern girl through and through.
