Poem -

Petrified

Petrified

isolated and bound, I shall not run

if only this could all be undone

dreading the sound of his voice

hoping,praying he won't come in

my tears have now all dried up

the whimpering has ceased

All hope has now faded

I have been taken over by this beast

he will not stop,he cannot stop,he refuses

i think he enjoys inflicting these bruises

my dried up wounds still ache

i must be careful what I say

panic sets in when the door unlocks

dreading the pain I will receive today

A sharp lash to the back of my head

Is this it? Will this be the end

Cynical I will be saved

knowing I'd rather be dead

I must be valiant I must try

The only time my hands are free

it's only him and me

Quickly I latch onto his belt

So much struggle so much force

Happening so quick his throat I felt

As he lay there no longer in control

i feel a sense of liberation flow over me

happiness enters my soul

no longer fearful no longer scared

I will embrace my new life ahead
