Pheonix and his resurrection
What rises from the smouldering ashes?
Is it a phantom of a bird?
I can see charred feathered wings yet is the resurrection of Pheonix so absurd?
He lay there cold amongst the cinders
I listened as his life did fade
Feathers fell away in flinders
I suffered for him as I prayed
Halleluyah in the highest
As Pheonix flapped his feathery plume
Angels flew around the fire
I watched in awe the smokey spume
Then in wantonless wonder
I heard the loudest shrilling cry
And from high above his inferno
Pheonix plummeted from the sky
Yes pheonix rose to tell his story
From cold as ice and stiff as stone
Archangels shone amidst his glory
Whence the sunshine was his throne
Alas burning embers are his ashes
Bones and feathers were no more
But they say the soul from Pheonix arose with angels from that floor
And I looked up to the highest heavens and what I watched made me cry
There was the most beautiful bird that I had ever seen
Pheonix flew joyiously in that sky

Lovely write Jill xx
Awwww Thanks my lovely lass 💕💕💕
Hi Jill, what a coincidence; I witnessed yesterday how they hoisted the phoenix at the Lambertus church in my village and put it back to the top of the church, which is under renovation.
This ' firebird' is a symbol of rebirth; it dies in flames and comes back to life from the ashes.
great write. I love the poem
